Now relative stability has returned to the DRC after years of war, the threat of uncontrolled industrial logging hangs over the second largest rainforest in the world.

We know that we have been destroying forests at an uprecedented rate, but it’s been difficult to determine which forests are most affected and to what extent. Thanks to up-to-date, high resolution satellite imagery, we have created a new map of our ancient forests – what’s left of them – and can now begin to focus on securing protection for the ones most in need.
